Big Ben Epilepsy Climb

Posted: 10th February 2012

To mark Purple Day this year we have arranged for 12 people affected by epilepsy to climb Big Ben Tower. These will include MPs Laura Sandys and Paul Maynard, both of whom have the condition themselves and who are both officers of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Epilepsy at Westminster.

Until recently, people with epilepsy were barred from climbing the 334 spiral steps to the top of the clock tower, but this restriction has recently been withdrawn and we plan to use the event as a PR opportunity to involve MPs and JEC members as well as the volunteer climbers who are taking part.

If you would like any further information on the event, which will take place on Monday, 26th March at 9.15am, please contact Sharon Wood.
