Mike Keighley, Chief Executive of JEC member the Meath Trust will be canoing taking on a canoe challenge on the river Thames to increase awareness for National Epilepsy Week 2012 and to raise sponsorship for a £2.3 million appeal running currently at the Meath to build a brand new specialist facility packed with assistive technology to care for and support their most profoundly disabled clients, enabling them to live safely and with far greater control over their own personal environment.

Mike, with his daughter, is aiming to canoe the length of the Thames, from as close to its source near Cricklade as possible, down to Teddington Lock (possible a little beyond), back to Shepperton and then up the River Wey and into Godalming (where our the Meath is based). The Meath Canoe Challenge will begin on Saturday 26 May and they aim to paddle in to Godalming Wharf at around 4.00pm on Saturday 2 June.
