National Assembly for Wales Cross-Party Group on Epilepsy
The group was launched to work with the All Wales Epilepsy Forum and the Joint Epilepsy Council to raise the profile of epilepsy and campaign for improvements in health services that will improve the lives of the 26,000 people in Wales with the condition. The All Wales Epilepsy Forum (AWEF) was formed as a result of a one day National Epilepsy Workshop held in July 2003, sponsored by the Welsh Assembly with the aim of promoting improved health and social services for people with epilepsy in Wales. The work of the AWEF is supported by the Joint Epilepsy Council, who also provides the Secretariat for the NAfW CPG on Epilepsy.
Membership of the group is open to all Assembly Members to organisations interested and involved in epilepsy care. Members of the NAfW CPG on Epilepsy come from all the major political parties, working together to promote the interests of people with epilepsy, their families and carers.
